A series named after the natural satellites in our solar system. This one is STEPHANO, a moon of Uranus. I’m making these in four sizes…only our moon will be in the largest size. This piece is the second size up.
Hand textured porcelain clay wall sculpture with a variety of textures, with various glazes and underglazes with the main body and fins left the beautiful alabaster-like unglazed porcelain. The piece has been fired to 1250 degrees C. As the design is all the way around the piece it makes a great piece for a coffee table or the wall. The back is concave. I forgot to add lugs for a hanging wire, but I can add a hanging method if you wish…it just wont be as neat as my usual method.
