A series named after comets. This one is IRAS, comets are usually named after who discovered them, but this one is named after the Infrared Astronomical Telescope. The comet was discovered in photographs. I’m making these in a variety of sizes.
Hand textured porcelain wall sculpture with a variety of textures, coloured with layers of underglaze, melted glass and glaze. The piece has been fired to 1250 degrees C. The back is concave with hanging lugs.
